Children from 16 – 20 months to 3 years

Our Cherubs room provides children with an exciting and stimulating environment where they have an abundance of space to explore, discover, and learn. A variety of carefully planned areas and activities encourage children’s natural curiosity, imagination, and sense of wonder. Large patio doors open directly onto our outdoor play area, allowing children to enjoy free-flow access and make independent choices about whether they would like to play indoors or outdoors.

The room is filled with the sounds of children and staff singing songs, rhymes, and sharing stories together. Staff foster a love of reading by creating inviting, cosy book corners where children can relax and enjoy familiar books independently, with friends, or alongside an adult. These experiences help to develop early communication, language, and literacy skills in a meaningful and enjoyable way.

Through everyday interactions and play experiences, staff make the most of every opportunity to introduce new concepts, descriptive vocabulary, and early mathematical language. Children are encouraged to talk about their experiences, explore ideas, and develop their understanding of the world around them, providing strong foundations for future learning.

Partnerships with parents are highly valued, and the nursery regularly hosts workshops that invite families to become actively involved in their child’s learning journey. These sessions focus on the term’s topic and provide opportunities for parents to engage in enriching experiences alongside their children, such as Forest School workshops and other hands-on learning activities. By working closely together, staff and families support children’s development, confidence, and love of learning.
