Baby Angels
Home from Home Approach, Where Families Matter
Babies up to the age of 16 to 20 months
Our baby room has a lovely warm and homely feel with lots of room to explore. Alongside the large main room it has its own sleep area and nappy changing room. It also has further space where the babies can enjoy their messy play and eating their snacks and meals together.
Staff plan opportunities for children to build on their physical skills. They recognise the importance of babies spending time playing on their tummies, and plan activities to encourage this. They provide time, space and opportunity for babies to crawl, cruise and toddle around. Babies confidently negotiate ramps and explore resources that captivate and offer challenge. This all helps to build on children’s core strength. Children have daily opportunities to crawl/walk around in wide open spaces and practise their climbing and balancing skills. This helps to promote children’s physical and mental health and well-being. Staff form close, nurturing and supportive relationships with children and their families. This enables staff to build on children’s learning and experiences at home. For example, following a baby’s visit to a farm, staff plan activities that captivate babies’ interests. Babies delight in playing with farm animals in mud, straw and sand. They listen intently and echo songs sung by staff who play alongside them.
Outstanding Childcare
We place a huge emphasis on children’s health and wellbeing and ensuring they have full access to the outdoors as well as nutritious meals and ensuring they have relationships with their teachers that are close, warm and supportive.
